Geography & Demographics

• Location & Size: Situated on the eastern edge of the Indochinese Peninsula in Southeast Asia, Vietnam spans roughly 331,200 km², stretching from China in the north to the Mekong Delta in the south. It shares borders with Laos and Cambodia and has an extensive coastline along the South China Sea.

• Landscape: The country’s terrain includes the mountainous Annamese Cordillera (west-central mountains), fertile deltas like the Red River (north) and Mekong (south), coastal plains, and dense forests—shaping its settlement and agricultural practices.
